Gary Drapeau

After graduation, I moved to South Carolina to attend Coastal Carolina University. It was there I met Elaine James, who became my wife on May 11th, 1985. I moved to Arbutus, MD and began working for Service America. I joined the Air Force in 1986 and was assigned to Fort Meade, of all places. I did four years and got out. When Desert Shield began, I joined the Air Force Reserve and moved to SC to be closer to Elaine's family. I used my GI benefits to return to school and earned a Master of Arts in Teaching from the University of SC in 1995. I was teaching 3rd grade on 9/11 and got called back to active duty. I have been serving at Robins AFB, GA since Sept 2002.

I remember chasing after girls and getting picked on because I was a pee-wee. I remember playing basketball with the guys from the C-Section and M-Section. I remember playing basketball in Kenny Matthews' back yard and when the ball went over the basket, chasing it down the hill.
